Avalon Community Library is a community
based organization staffed by volunteers and funded by an annual grant
from Pittwater Council, who also provide our very modern premises and
a Library Officer to co-ordinate activities.
The library was established more than twenty years ago, and has been housed in various locations over the years.
In preparation for relocation to this final permanent location, the collection, originally set up as a manual system (with the old card catalogue cabinets), was computerized and then merged into the Pittwater Library Service Catalogue.
We also share a common membership with Mona Vale Library, which, as a public library, is able to provide our members with services we were previously unable to offer, such as Inter Library Loans.
